Introduction:

MasterMind Creations has hit another home run with their Reformatted line. Felisaber is a great homage to the Pretender character, Catilla. Basically a retool of Tigris, they were still able to make him stand out on his own. Lots of bonus items were included, with the likes of the alternate faces for Bovis and Fortis, red hooves for Bovis, the gauntlet/beast head armor, Bio cards for Felisaber and Feral Rex, the rubber nubbins for FR's feet,  and the surprise figure hidden in his chest cavity - MMC's Mascot - Skiing Penguin.

Although Felisaber is an optional figure, we think that it's a great addition to the set. You can form Feral Rex's Perfect Mode to boot. Let's check out how it how it goes for other features.

Articulation:

Felisaber has got lots of articulation. Joints are pretty solid and good play. For a high end toy, it doesn't feel fragile. I like that you can use the combiner elbow joint to help out with the ab crunch in bot mode, as well as arching his back in beast mode. He might not be as beefy as Leo Dux, he does pull his weight, much like Tigris does.

Paint:

The color palette on Felisaber looks great and matches that of Catilla. Same goes for when he goes in limb mode as you can see in the video and the pictures posted on this review. Everything pops up on him. If there's anything that some folks might want to do, is to possibly add some faction symbols, or may do some panel linings. As it is, I do like it in it's default state.

Transformation:

Here's the fun part. Felisaber is not overly complicated to transform. The twists, bends, and what not are very direct. Some might have to learn how to use the L-bend of the shoulder, for when you turn him into arm mode. It takes a bit of practice to get the arms in place and secured. Otherwise, you probably won't even need to look much on the instructions. Still, as with any figures, it's best to at least go through the manual, to make sure that you don't miss a step. You'll actually see in the video that we missed plugging in the knee guards in beast and limb mode. Though, we did fix it towards the end of the video.

Bottom Line:

So, with that, how we feel about recommending this figure? I'd say, YES! Get it even for a stand alone figure. Would be nice if he came with two blasters and possibly a dagger or two as well.  His weapon does not integrate in combined mode form, but you can still plug it onto his shoulder as part of Feral Rex.  Works great to have a complete set of Feralcons. Feral Rex in Perfect Mode configuration looks awesome. Check out how we reconfigured Talon in back pack mode.

If you're a fan of the to be released figure of PredaQueen, you know that you'll want Felisaber to be there too. We hope to see more of MMC's Reformatted line.
