Prime Spotlight: Takara Masterpiece MP-21 Bumblebee and Spike in Exosuit

Takara Masterpiece MP-21 Bumblebee with Spike in Exosuit

First off, let's take a look at the packaging and the contents. We have the usual Takara box design showing the characters on the front, and more details in the back. Bumblebee comes in the box in vehicle mode, while Spike is upright in his Exosuit. The tray includes Bumblebee's blaster, his spare tire, and a replacement face. We also see the instruction manual with the Bio card, and the side mirrors in a sprue. Note that you only need to attach one mirror in car mode. The other will be a spare in case you loose the first one.





Items out of the tray. The spare tire can be attached to the back of the vehicle, you just need to remove the black piece that resembles the license place. You can also store the blaster and spare tire under the vehicle is you want to.





Here we have Spike in his Exosuit. Very articulated and the wheels also turns when using the alt mode. Pretty sizable compared to Bumblebee's Beetle.

DR Wu DW-P23 New Partners, pre-order is up!

The latest upgrade kit from Dr. Wu, comes DW-P23 New Partners. This is a set of replacement heads for the Exosuit that comes with MP-21 Bumblebee. Note that the Exosuit is not included. So, you can turn the Exosuit into a more accurate Adult Spike, or that of his son Daniel, as shown in the G1 Movies/Cartoons. If you want to use both, then you'll have to have two of the Exosuit figures. The set is coming out in March of 2015.
