With any TFC figure, I'm pretty confident I'll be getting a fun toy. Minos does not disappoint in that regard.
Jet mode looks good from the top and decent from the sides. It does not completely do away with the robot with a jet backpack look. From underneath, there is a very visible robot silhouette. The robot head is sort of hidden. At least the fists are tucked away. The ends of the wings are on hinges, as are the flaps on the back of the wings.
Transformation is simple and straightforward and very reminiscent of Combiner Wars. The wings are pegged into the arms, like Silverbolt and Cyclonus. The legs unfold, like all the jets and helicopters. This is preferable to having to slide the legs out by yanking on them, like the Masterpiece Seekers.
Although I wish he had more paint applications, the figure looks good. I like the head sculpt. The wings can be a bit kibbly, but they are removable. Without Kōmoribreast attached, the chest looks a little plain. The light-piping in his head doesn't seem to catch light very well. Overall, it is a very decent likeness to the character.
His head and toes are on ball joints. He swivels at the shoulders, wrists, biceps, and waist. His thigh swivels are a bit limited. He has double-jointed elbows, but single-jointed knees. His fingers are fixed in place, but have no trouble holding Kōmoribreast in blaster mode.
His accessories include Kōmoribreast, and a pair of combiner hands. Kōmoribreast can turn into a goofy looking bat-like robot and a not-so-convincing blaster. Too bad he does not come with a set of nunchuks or a separate gun. The combiner hands are typical of TFC combiners.
Only time will tell how this set works as a combiner. If it's anything like the stability of other TFC sets, I'll probably put them in combined mode for a few pictures before displaying them as individual bots on my shelf.
