Masterpiece Clamp Down

I only ever intended to purchase the characters that appeared in the cartoon I watched as a child. Well, that plan didn't last long.

Clamp Down is a Lamborghini police car. The paint application is pretty clean. The Lamborghini logo is small but recognizable. The tires are plastic and roll just fine on my copy. There is a port in the light bar for mounting the combined weapons.

Transformation is exactly the same as all the previous members of this mold.

Clamp Down is a repaint of Red Alert. They share the same head, chest, and shoulder pieces, but with different paint applications.

His head and shoulders are on swivels and hinges. He swivels at the biceps, wrists, and waist. His thumbs are fixed and his fingers are pinned. His elbows and knees are single jointed. His hips are universal joints that allow some swiveling at the thighs. He has ankle tilts and rockers.

He comes with a rifle, a shoulder-mounted missile launcher, and a pair of pile drivers. Like all his mold mates, the rifle does not sit well in his hands, especially if you try to close his fingers too tightly. The KFC replacement hands don't have this issue. The missile launcher sits snugly in either shoulder and has some vertical articulation. While the rifle is exactly the same as the one that came with Red Alert, the missile launcher has a different paint scheme. The pile drivers simply clamp onto the back of his fists.

This is still one of my favorite Masterpiece molds. His chest is a bit too boxy for Sideswipe, but works very well for everyone else. I'll probably pick up the inevitable Deep Cover repaint. Hopefully, someone will make a more accurate looking Sideswipe.
